I assumed all chaps were assless, that's what makes them chaps.

Well, I don't think ANYONE in the world could hate extended swing arms more than I do. Unless it's primarily a drag bike, there is no purpose for an extended swing arm. I laugh at all the guys riding around on sportbikes with extended swing arms and a back tire so wide I'm surprised they even need a kickstand. It looks so idiotic. These are usually the same guys with everything chromed, who only ride around town when the weather is nice(without a helmet or gear I might add). I know, I know..... I'm profiling, and profiling is wrong.:uncomfortableness:
That said, it's your bike to do with as you please....regardless of what I or anyone else think about it.

Havoc, I feel sorry for you. Guys like you destroy a beautiful machine just so that you get lots of attention.
You should know that most of the attention is most likely pity. Of course you guys can do whatever you want
with your own bikes, but don't try to show them here as something unique and nice looking. Your bike hurts my eyes.
As the old saying goes . . . "Stock Is King"

Jason, in regards to your proposed swing arm mod, what's your mission? Are you trying to keep the front end down? If your having that kind of problem
maybe you need some riding lessons.

Ever seen the chaps that are assless, taintless and crotchless? I saw some that were made for Kim Kardashian and they were darned near chap less.

The snowball effect is also known as the slippery slope. That being said I really enjoy the 25 words or less posts on existentialism and Pasadena engineering.

Chaps can be dudes. The chaps in question are those with no crotch and no ass. Very popular with harleydoods in general and other harleydoods that hang out in those leather bars not only wearing those chaps but wearing other chaps too..

I bought a brand new Harley once.. Big mistake.. Raced one for one season. Free rides are great.. I have custody of a KRTT that is going into a museum but I don't think I'll ever get around to buying a pair of those chaps or hanging out with anybody that wears them.

With that missing fender on your chop job the stuff that would accumulate on your ass would defeat the fact that the chaps were assless and I bet some loose gravel might hurt.

So ya see, my suggestion for a Harley mudflap was given some serious thought and has merit.

If your going to do threaded spools it might help to have a stand first to help mock up a good location for those spools. In the case of my Suzuki, lifting it from the spools blocks the rear caliper mounting bolts.

IMO opinion swing arm finish should match the frame finish.

Well all you "stock is king" assholes just need to fuck off. I only joined this forum to learn about the V4's. Now that I have all the knowledge I need you all can kiss my ass. Ain't nothing but a bunch of little bitch's anyways. I guess I'll just go to my custom fighters forum where all they do is fighter conversions. So good riddance. And I decided to take all my perfectly good fairings and smash them all up and toss them in the garbage.

Havoc, check out the vfr forum on Bikers Oracle. It's mostly folks from the United Kingdom and Europe. They have a section just for the older 86-89 VFR bikes. It's also much better moderated and the folks are a lot nicer over there.

VFR World seems to have no moderators at all, so some people just go crazy. Insulting people, hijacking threads, getting way off topic, etc...

It seems that way. It seems I inadvertently hijacked your thread, and I apologize. One person in particular has a crush on Harley dudes.

So when you were a little dude did you lay on floor and kick your feet and hold your breath until you turned blue.

Studies show that harleydoods exhibit much the same behavior sometimes into their late 50's. I will look for some vids of this.

Expecting overnight changes unless some drugs are employed is far fetched. Case in point might be those temper tantrums you copped to.

Having dysfunctional relatives is part of the fun especially when ya have tapes or DVD at family reunions.

I'll keep looking.. In the interim here is some really cool shit you can do at home and maybe even adapt some of these soloutions to your bike.

I get it, this was all a ruse. You ripped the fairings off for some maintenance and posted some photos claiming a "custom" street fighter just to rile some folks up. Nice one

I guess next you're gonna say your new user name (obligatory of streetfighter folks to mix caps and lower case and end name with a "Z") is something like V4mOToGanGsTAz

Well aren't you a clever one cb-0. You figured it all out on your own.
Well I have one bike to ruin as you'd say, and then I have my Magna cruiser.

It's not a complete fighter until the whole bike's been plastidipped black.

Let's see now, the snowball effect isn't aka the slippery slope? Would you go for the slippery slope being aka the snowball effect? . Maybe you mean the rolling stone effect. Maybe you are just hoping that if ya say something a bunch of times there will be somebody out there that thinks it's true.

It is really not good manners to post up a quote and then modify it to suit your needs. Being a former Houstonian, what I wrote was "Pasadena engineering". Pasadena where there is a KKK bookstore and a drivein porn theatre.

Now ya got two things going, a potential ghetto rocket and putting my BS meter into the red zone.
