6th GEN TAIL SECTION HELP

    I am painting my 2002 vfr and upon removal of the tail section someone had done some horrible body work trying to patch the passenger handle holes. I can not remove the patch without destroying the tail section. The patch is cracking and shows through the top of the tail section. There is a 2009 tail section on ebay for a good deal. Are all 6th gen tail pieces the same? If not what years are compatible

    A good start would be pix of that you are trying to fix. My guess is that the "patch" is the regular type of Bondo..

    The question is, are the grab handles going to be used?

    If it were my money, I'd go ahead and buy it. When I built mine, I didn't worry about what year the subframe and what year the plastic was. Other than color, there should be no difference.
