Noticed some misting and fogging on the inside of the headlight glass on my '99 VFR800 tonight as the bike was cooling down. Do I need to take the headlamp out to get rid of it? It looks quite a big job which I'd like to avoid if I can... Thanks

Just remove the dirt cover and the lamps
Let air dry over night or use hair dryer if you wish....

Drying it out is certainly recommended. But the real question is why did it get "misty" in the first place?

They are vented to the atmosphere and are not sealed. Not sure that I'd be overly concerned.

    Gotcha, Tink.

Guess I'd never seen or heard of it before, so it made me wonder why it was happening.

the black plastic cover under the headlight unit was missing. I guess that didn't help either. I've bought a new one for it today.

Not sure on the VFR but most headlight units have a vent as previously stated. Look for a short piece of rubber hose that may be pinched or turned so the end is facing forward. Make sure it is open and faces to the rear.
