Have any of you guys removed the fender from a 1st gen?

I wouldn't mind getting rid of mine, but I haven't found a kit or anything for it yet.

I think I'm gonna try and make one myself... My bike is stuck in the shop at school until the parts I need come in, so I might as well start screwing around with something!

I'll let you guys know if I come up with anything!

I wound up doing an eliminator in the form of cutting my old fender down to being nothing more then a licence plate tab. On the first gen VFs the fenders angled just right to use the tail light as your plate light lol.

    Heres a pic...

Here's what my bike's PO did my license plate. I kinda like it. Much better than OEM.

I did mine myself. I took a razor and cut it off right under the taillight. I then took a piece of 1" X 1" angle and cut it to the length of the tag and predrilled mounting holes for the tag and holes to mount it to the bike... Then I took a torch and heated it up so I could adjust the mounting angle and bend until I had a 90 degree vertical mount for the tag. Then just drilled thru the plastic under the tail light and mounted it w/bolts and oversize washers. Replace the rear cowl and ready to go...
    Good luck

eliminating fender it's a must on last bikes and not only.

generally any bike takes advantage of this, looking much more racey and modern.
Ive had my 86 Viffer transformed in like Bubba's one and mech has taken away fender.
Here they sell hundreds of kinds of metallic plate's holder with about 45 degrees "banking".
