Been on a bit of a buying spree lately, well over buying really. Over the last 7 - 8 months, I have bought quite a bit of candy for the VFR. Going to do one big install, probly over two weekends in June or July. Couple of things I am still wondering about adding. Wondering if people have problems with some of the combinations I will have.

    Still thinking about:
    1. Cruise control
    2. tire monitor -- SmartTire or Kisan
    3. HID head lights -- Aerostitch kit
    4. aux lights -- just can't find brackets I like
    5. Givi shield
    6. Ohlins fork springs
    7. LED tail light

    Have, not installed yet:
    1. Gen mar risers
    2. new rear sets
    3. Scorpio alarm
    4. Steibel extra loud horn
    5. aux. fuse & ground block
    6. power commander -- will obviously need a custom map done
    7. GPS mount
    8. Powerlet outlets
    9. Heated grips -- Hondaline from England
    10. Staintunes
    11. Chargegaurd -- Kisan
    12. headlight modulator -- Kisan
    13. blinker cancel module -- Kisan
    14. brake light flasher -- Kisan
    15. additional signal lights for mirrors -- Kisan
    16. additional brake lights around license plate -- Kisan
    17. mirror extenders -- Gen Mar
    18. Galfer wave rotors and braided brake lines
    19. Acuman gear indicator
    20. Carbon Fiber – Geelong – tank protector, combo rear hugger and chain guard, triple tree cover,
    21. Carbon Fiber – Thurn – heat shield, and lower chain guard
    22. K&N air filter
    23. Motad headers – to be Jet-Hot coated in extreme sterling

I think that is it, but I might be forgetting something...
geez, looking at it now, I gotta lot of work a head of me...

When you're done with it, you'll have an aircraft carrier. One word>Beamer.

Woah, where to start. Great list btw!!!

HID's, only do the low beams obviously. They're just not practical for the highs because of the time it takes to come up to full blast. (about 10 seconds initially, 5ish once warmed up). I've got them on my bikes and they make a HUGE difference.

Aerostich wants 187 per light, the guy I use out of SoCal has a kit for two H7's at $199 LANDED. Right now, between my bikes and a few buddies, we have 4 different setups running problem free since September of last year. Make sure you stick with 6000k, it's the best output I think. Here's a LINK

Aerostich's kit (very similar hardware wise to other kits I've seen)

The GoldenEye kit's I've been using (Notice a single ballast/starter unit her bulb, most others have two separate boxes) Only thing not pictured is the wiring, and it's done very nice. After installing on 4 bikes, I'm a bit of a pro so PM if you have any questions. (Doing a car install next week too)

Also nix the headlight modulator idea if you go HID.

One thing to know about HID, they don't seem as recognizable in bright sunlight, so run with your high beams on or some aux lights (like Motolights).

If you do a lot of night driving, the PIAA Plasma Ion lights as your high beams are SPECTACULAR in conjunction with the HID's. Daylight recognition is great too.

I'd like to do the HID lights. I've read some guys have good luck with a seller's off of ebay for aroun $175.

I'd also like a Staintune, GPS mount, mirror blinkers, and a powercommander.

Cruise, psssstt.. I just get some rubber tubing and smoosh between the throttle grip so it'll hold the throttle, but still allow me to move it if I need to slow down/speed up.

    How so?
a lot of the stuff just replaces teh OEM stuff
like the Ohlins rear shock, better quality, more adjustability, possible lighter
Motad headers, definately lighter than stock
    Staintune, def lighter than stock
    Steibel horn, lighter and louder
the Kisan stuff is all probly under a pound or two, and should increase the safety factor on the commute
Glafer discs and lines, mostly for show, but the lines do make a marked difference
Heated grips, if you have never tried them, they are pretty cool to have. Especially when you commute at 5:15 - 6am in the morning.

I think I am going to wait on the HIDs and the aux lights, as I am just not doing as much night riding anymore. And when I do it is along my commute route which is pretty well lit up. I think if I still did a lot of my weekend trips in the mountains I would be more apt to do it. We'll see though. Maybe if I get the big bucks for all the stuff I am taking off, when I put it on EBay, I will feel differently about it. I have just already sunk so much money into it. Let the credit card cool off a little bit. I was looking at the Aerostitch kit as well, was worried about ballast placement frankly as there doesn't appear to be too much room under there.

Who knows, maybe when I have it all apart, I will go, "ah He#$ as long as I got it apart..."

But I do get a rebate when I buy from Aerostitch since my Visa is sponsered by the AMA....

    Ahhh, I am weak!
