Ok got my carb's all set up and wouldn't you know it the fuel pump crapped out............ I can't find one online and the dealer wants stupid money for it. yes I can by pass it but would like not to. If any one knows where to find one or has an old one kicking around I'll be more then willing to pay for it and shipping. We no longer have a bike wrecker in this city so I'm having a hard time finding one. thanks

 

LOL news flash after screwing around with the fuel pump it ended up being the ground wire at the pump was broken inside the eyelet. Crimped and soldered on a new end and its back working.

 

You DON"T have to have it and go gravity fed. It will work.

And the stock fuel pump can be replaced with a cheap aftermarket one for a car, especially a low pressure and low volume type.

There's a discussion going on about this in another thread, but that is regarding 700/750's... different tank designs. I raced a 500 (read: full throttle a lot) on minimal fuel load for weight, fuel pump deleted, feeding 85 carbs with no problems at all... no fuel starvation... nothing. Your results might vary... but probably not.

 

I've been running gravity feed for about 6 years with 86 & 85 carbs work's just fine. You could ditch it to save weight and remove some of that clutter in the bike.

I would like to know how the pump can be bypassed also. 85 VF700F
