So I was talking to some guys about what tire pressure to run .
They said long trips use what Honda recommends 42psi for the back and 36psi for the front I think . But for Back road cornering drop it by 3-5 psi each tire It will handle much better . So I have a 2007 VFR800 and I'm running Pirelli angel GT I just put the tires on about 6 weeks ago .
So what do you guys think about the pressure ? 1004844_10202445399209084_2012168405_n.jpg

A bunch of dudes always know more than Honda or Pirelli.

Chances are that unless most of us in reality, unless gifted with the mysterious fast guy genes, can't outride the bike fitted with a quality set of tires.

Then ya got a couple of gas laws to crank in that affect pressure.

    Try the Pirelli website.

Perhaps there was a loss in translation. Those Italian guys wave their hands around a lot.

Lol . that's true . I had my VFR up there for them to set up
my suspension and they did a great job . My bike has never felt better
but I understand what you're saying Ducati doesn't make tires Pirelli does .
It was . it was kind of funny while I was there they had some MotoGP race going on on television overseas
in Honda and Yamaha we're leaving the race the whole time Ducati was way back there .
but all of those bikes are made to run equally so it's probably more of better riders .

I've always run 33 front and 36 rear. I've never had a problem and get good tire wear/life. Plus it rides much smoother...

The bikes are pure racebikes and have little to do with streetbikes. There are rules about many facets of the machines including displacement but IMO the various camps would like to think they run equaly. Your point about the riders is well taken.

Tires and oil are subjects of much discussion around this pit stop..Some of the posts will actually be aboot tires.

Ducati and Pirelli are two different outfits but those Italian guys make great pizza.

Some of the MSF type instructors, riding school instructors and even track day guys are good with suspensions.

33 maybe 35.5:vfrshorty::pisser: with the Yamaha r6 600 I ran 32,32 lighter bike. Too much air makes the bike want to tip over, bad on bumps.

this is as bad as asking what oil to use. When I used to do CCS racing here, Dunlop would have recommended tyre pressures posted. For street bikes, I have always and I mean always used 34 front - 36 rear. Now if I was carrying a passenger, I would pump the rear up to 40 or so.

The heavy POS cruiser bikes I am around  I use 40 or more front and rear, anything is gona be an improvement to them as they come in for 20 pounds.

I think I'm going to start out running it at 32&36 and play with it till I find
where it feels good to me . That's how I run my 1992 Yamaha XJ600
Yes its a Seca ll . laugh all you want but its a very reliable bike and fun
to ride . Over 20 years old but looks just as new as my 2007 VFR . But that's what happens
when you wipe your bike down after every ride , the paint stays nice

I rode the Seca 2 back in the day, you know something, they had an entire racing class dedicated to those bikes. My 91 looks better than some 2013 bikes that come in! Even my commuter bike gets wiped down along with the fork tubes after every ride. Its the proper thing to do. Low Tech doesnt always equal boring.

There was a hot porno actress named "Seca" she would have been more interesting to ride than that old air cooled four banger. Yep, alot of banging would have ensued too

We sort of lost our fave stripper, Miss Kitty Litter to the "adult" trade. She was certainly not underinflated.

A little 50's porn Texas style.

I'll tell you the truth and some of you guys may not like this but My 1992 Seca 600 could take My 2007 VFR in the 1st 60' from stop to 60' mark ..easy . maybe more 014.JPG
I can launch it so much harder ! And I think it would be much faster in tight turns , but we are talking about a lightweight 600 .
