3 bulbs replace the backlighting on the instrument panel and an additional two bulbs backlight the LCD screen. . 1 each for turn signal indicator, then 4 micro wedge for warning lights.

I used the 5 way bulbs, but the direct 4 way for turn signal indicators only. I ordered them in UV to see if it makes the instrument panel "pop"

    Thanks!

I'd be very interested to hear how that turns out! Be sure to post pics when you've done it.

I'm probably going to pull the trigger on the red ones. If those turn out to be too dim, I'll probably switch the ones in the gauge cluster to white, and keep either red or amber on the LCD.

The single blue LED with the reflector is the one I use, with no night vision issues. Might have issues when you go up to the 5 LED though. As far as bulbs needed:

24-xHP:24 LED Bulb - 1 SMD LED Wedge Base: Blue x1
24-xHP:24 LED Bulb - 1 SMD LED Wedge Base: Green x1
24-xHP:24 LED Bulb - 1 SMD LED Wedge Base: Red x1
    WLED-x-x:194 LED Bulb - 1 LED Wedge Base - WLED-W-90:Cool White 90 Degree x2

And WLED-x-x x5 in the color of your choice for the main dash. Would go with 120 deg beam over 90 deg.

I went with the green bulbs behind the dash and LCD to match the green gauge faces and it is much brighter, but I don't think it interferes with night vision too badly.

By the way, I did replace the FI warning light with an LED, but then put the incandescent bulb back in after finding the LED interfered with the flash rate of th FI light when flashing warning codes. Much the same way an LED turn signal increases the flash rate of your turn signal.

I can take a photo if you want to see what the green looks like.

When I tried that the light just went solid and slightly dimmed when the bike was started. Went back to a normal bulb after that.

The UV bulbs were a no go. Hardly visible even in darkness. The 5 LED bulbs are AWESOME:

Is that picture with white 5-LED bulbs? and is the SMD LEDs or standard? ($6 or $4/bulb?)

These are the 5-LED bulbs that are $3.74 each. You have to rotate them into the opening as they don't go straight in . Not sure what SMD stands for? I didn't see any $6 bulbs....

SMD = Surface Mount Diode. They look like this: http://www.superbrightleds.com/more...led-bulb-5-smd-led-wide-angle-wedge-base/206/

The SMD ones are supposedly around 100 lumens while the ones you bought are around 30 (I'm guessing these ones? http://www.superbrightleds.com/more...194-led-bulb-5-led-wide-angle-wedge-base/199/ )

I ordered the SMD ones this morning. THIS GUN BE BRIGHT.

I'm actually kinda worried now that the ones I bought might be too long to fit inside the panel... I guess I'll find out soon enough. Has anyone else bought the SMD ones?

Quick question, anyone know if there are alternative gauge faceplates I can get for the speedy and tach? As in same scale, just different look?

Finished my install of the red 100 lumen SMD LEDs, and I am now very glad I didn't get the cheaper ones. They're pretty dim through most of the instrument cluster except for the redline and needles. They're still good, though, just not as bright as I would like. Will probably keep them like this unless I decide to try orange later.
