I test drove this bike today. It's very clean. Seems have been well cared for. Except for the oxidized front valve cover and radiator full of bugs.
Started right up after sitting for a claimed month.

I didn't feel any problems with the throttle response in regards to the t1 jetting.
The delkavick exhaust sounds great. Quiet until the rpms go up above 6k or something like that.

Only problem was the seat. I can only compare it with the Corbin on my sabre and by that standard the oem vfr seat is lacking. Guess that shouldn't surprise me.* I'll probably have to upgrade the seat and add helibars.

Any thoughts on the Rear shock mod using the shock from a Honda 929?

Other than the R/R on these bikes what are some common problems? Does $3300 seem like a good price? From what I can tell its a fair price.

I'm kind of answering my own question here...:)

    $3300 is high for a 4th gen
I would look for 5th in that price range.

I glanced at that bike but never went to check it out, mainly the price seemed a bit high for me.

I know that the 929 shock swap is not uncommon. Can't comment on how good it is, never tried it. I'm sure you'll hear the usual I love it or I hate it comments. Personally I kinda hate "skimping" on suspension (and brakes) usually default to saving up for a Penske.

If you can get him down on the price, sounds like it wouldn't be a bad buy.

thing is that its in California where all owners think their bikes are made of gold and these damn vfr's are starting to pick up popularity. Not many people know of the Honda V4 single sided swing arm bike.Id say 1500$ for that bike and no more.
