Well here it is in all its glory. Well almost, I need to redo the seat cause it doesn't go with the rest of the bike, need a new Windscreen or paint my old one and the fuel shutoff decided it did want to seal so I need to fix that somehow and fix the paint it messed up right below it. 20140323_125810.jpg

Well got the fuel leak and paint fixed. Fluids changed , chain adjusted, tires checked. She is ready to blast. The seat still needs done but it's not a rush right now. 20140329_161312.jpg 20140329_183547.jpg

I had thought about getting rid of the red but couldn't make up my mind.

Original finish is best, matches valve covers and isn't so punky. Big reason to delete red is becuz it's pointless and UNnecessary !

all US models '86s covers were goldish wrinkle finish, closely matching valve covers. No US R/W/Bs with black covers i think. Could be some mixup as '87 F2s were gloss black, covers too, but you have '86F round gauges, so ?????

Yes round gauges, a lot of stuff has been painted/ altered on this bike from when I got it. The red was there and the valve covers were already black. I'll change the red but I'm not gonna worry about the v covers

Truly I'm not a fan of the red. It looked good when the bike was rwb but not so much anymore. Ideally I would have redone the bike rwb but I could not afford it. Anyways back to the goldish covers, the bike is metallic blue so what's the opinion on painting the covers gold. I don't know what the difference between regular gold and the gold crush or whatever was original but personally I like gold and blue combo. Then I have to consider graphics ugh. I don't want gold graphics but I don't want the gold on the covers to look weird if it's the only thing that color..... aaaaaand I've gone cross eyed
