Whats up guy's. I'm having a problem with my 1986 VFR 750, hope you can help me find the problem. While riding the bike through almost every gear I get what fells like a very suttle bucking or shuttering. Sometimes it will get really bad to the point were I'll go to roll back onto the trottle and the bike won't rev up at all. It will only last a minute or two and my trottle response will come back. When I rode it the other day she started to buck, I tryed pulling in the clutch slightly and it seemed like it smoothed things out. I don't know if the bike has a fuel filter that could be causing these issues. I could not find a fuel filter in my owners manual. I am looking into getting a clymers manual for the bike. But until I can get my hand on one any help would be great.
Yep, there is a fuel filter located behind the LH side panel. It can be replaced w/ a generic automotive filter(much cheaper & transparent). Check for air restriction as well, plugged filter, mouse nest etc. while your checking your filter it would be a good time to pull the rubber intake snorkel out(you'll figure out what I mean when you see it if you don't already). It will improve air flow & it sounds cooler; its like flipping over the air cleaner cover on the old mans v8 4 barrel sedan when you where in high school( that statement probably dates me severely) you can just hear all four barrels sucking air when you get into the throttle.
Thank alot T-Bone. I found the fuel filter. Just picked up a new one from NAPA, hopping to put it in within the next couple days. Then will see if that fixes my problem. Thank Again
I have flipped the air cleaner on my Blazer. That must date me as well. 28 now but I was 22 when I first did it.
