Hi , i m restoring a 1990 VFR and i was wondering what model of aftermarket mirrors you guys put on your rides. The rubber boot of the ones i got does not fit right and i don t know if they are original.

If you have links to picture or websites i can order it would be great.

I m looking for something close to original , but maybe a little more on the sport side. Smaller indeed?

    Thanks.

    Yves

I changed to OEM 2001 VFR mirrors. Looks like the more recent "condomless" mirrors and bolt spacing fits no problem. Just a thought.

Those rubber boots are notorious for not fitting like we would like them to, so sounds like you have the original mirrors. As REEK already mentioned, a common swap for that issue is to go with stock OEM mirrors from a 5th gen VFR. Mine came from a 2000 model year bike. Much cleaner look, and a straight direct replacement.

Unless I'm having one of my usual mid day brain attacks, I'm pretty sure they look the same but the gen 6 WON'T fit. the spacing is not the same as the 2000-2001. Hope some one can confirm this but I tried to fit my 07 VFR mirrors to my 93, they don't fit.

I think you re right REEK. Looking on the net, i think the only non concom style oem looking mirrors that fit 90-97 VFR are the 2000-2001 vfr 800. Like REEK said if someone can confirm it i would appreciate. Maybe Kemer1 tought i was still talking of 2000-2001 models.....

And those i linked are only 20$ damn!!!! To good to be true ;)

And if you want to be a ;little industrious, I have a set of mirrors from a BMW R1100S. Very nice ventilated stalks and a little taller. Could be adapted very easily.

IF you want to be different.
