my Gen 3 is a tick or so away from 80,000 miles. I never get close to 50 miles to the gallon! Best mileage was around 40, guess everything goes into the toilet-o with triple digit riding:pound: Interesting seeing high mileage units like that, a while ago I rode a co-workers 100,000 mile black-turd and came back to tell him it did ok...

If you rode mine, which would also mean that I was no longer on this planet, you would not think its a has the mileage its got. I got a back up speedo with the clock feature that has 50,000 miles but dont wana use it as I dont wana lose my street cred

I guess with new paint and decals they can all look like new. Mine is a 90 with just shy of 67k on it and it rides and looks flawless. Huge testimony to the engineering and build quality of these machines. Kudos goes to the previous two owners for taking such good care of it as well.

Yeh the build quality is nice, especially that nice aluminum frame, compare that to the next generation where they cheaped oot and just did the affect through cutting some gills in the side plastics.

Everything takes a little luck in this world, you could have a good one, a mediocre one, or one of those dreaded Monday morning ones (talking vee-hickles here.) I saved most of my old reciepts for my maintenence items, they go beyond just spark plugs and oil believe me, and thats not factoring in the hours of labour.

If you wana ride, you can, but nothing is free. Its a great dance don't get me wrong, nice slow dance. I have not bought a new/new bike since 1993 btw, if lotto paid off tomorrow I would but a nice litre bike, just saying...cheers ; )

I'm not surprised, My 95 has 85,000 and it runs like a Swiss watch . Most VFR owners are 'adult' if not in age then in mentality maturity and so along with the machine design & build being so good the owners tend to take care of there VFR's. ....cheers.
