in addition to the air box modification this Spring, I also installed a new GPR high mount exhaust system. I took the time to clean and have the headers Jet Hot coated. The GPR is a nice set up, however i did not like the way they recommended mounting the canister, so I fabricated my own support bracket. See pics below.

Nice. I prefer carbon cans, but nice job. Glad to see someone using their head and improvising.

Now, turn signal mirrors and fill the old hole where the stock signals go and you're updated.

Welcome to the site. The GPR system came with the mounting point welded to the pipe. It was a pretty nice fit - but not perfect. If you look carefully, you will see that I did a little grinding on the back side of the footrest support so the pipe did not rub. Good luck with your VFR - these are nice bikes - and a great value.

Deffo a nice job, this is the next mod I'll be doing to mine, funnily enough also using a GPR exhaust, but likely to be the Carbon Fibre one. Just one question, isn't the riser pipe from the headers up to the new position of the exhaust too close to the wheel? This is the only thing that keeps me wondering if this will be a good idea.

Chrome is nice. I choose to use aluminized high heat header paint. I like the way it matches the color of the frame. Easy to do and it only cost the price of the rattle can. I painted it when I installed the 98 header pipes on my 01. I put on the pipes when I installed the power commander.

I have met Mike (I believe) in Pittsboro, NC and thought the muffler sounded great. I also inquired about this coated header, as I thought it was aftermarket. Wish I had his garage space.
