Touch-up paint color match for Red/White/Blue '86 VF500F?

Very cool! All you old dudes got to have some really neat iron.

 

OK... Gotta add this... Just got this on the road tonight...

 

I went to a local ppg retailer and had them color scan my fairing. They mixed up a rattle can worth of paint for about $20. It was close enough that people don't realize the panel was repainted.

Looks like it worked. The red circle shows where I repainted. I used a rattle can clear and hand polished.

Any more details you'd care to share? A before pic depicting damage, type paint that PPG recommended, type of clearcoat ect?

As I said in the thread above, I still want to mess around with that duplicolor yellow and pearl powder, but have too many other projects on tap.
