So I couldn't find anything about this, but I'm getting excited to get my VFR700 ready for this summer and I read on wikipedia that the '88/'89 models (not imported to the US) had 17" wheels front and rear... Has anyone fitted these to a 2nd gen? Seems SO much easier than any of the other wheel swaps, sounds like it might just bolt right in... Figure you could probably get a set from the UK or something for just a couple hundred dollars shipped...

Same size wheels as 87-90 600 hurricane. Plenty of them in the US?
But still restricted to narrow tyres.

I thought the hurricane wheels (rears at least) needed some minor machining?

    Cant see why?
Axle may be a different size, but thats a bearing issue. As long as you use the hurricane hub with the wheel it may be ok.
There are several threads on here regarding wheel swaps, there's one right at the top of the page.
There are loads of them here, under classic vfr's
