The old girl has done 27k, tbh it was a pain1 the haynes manual doesn't tell you the the clutch spring bolts are one time use only (i found out the hard way) plus you need a torque wrench thats does 9lbft and up (this i has to buy @ £39).
But once all was in place the job was a breeze, and it feels much better in the hand.

Clutch spring bolts aren't one time use only, you just did them up too tight without using a torque wrench... The bolts snap quite easily, as you now know ...

I just think they stretch over time, I had the same problem when I replaced my clutch at 62000k's.
It didn't get any where near torque setting before 2 broke. When I looked at the remaining ones, they were all stretched
At least it was easy to remove brocken bits, I replaced the lot with new high tensile ones.

That's exactly what i did, I went to the expense of a tap set with extractor, when I started to drill the one that had snapped, it started to screw in! So I put the drill into reverse and screwed it out! I was like "please come out without doing any real damage" the clutch was completely buggered, but my friends tell me that the bike was never designed to do what I do to it lol.
