2014 V-STROM DL1000 - Inspired by Woody Wood Pecker ?

The VSTROM / DL1000 has always been considered a comfortable, competent machine with a great engine overlapping some of the qualities that make the VFR800 a great road based allrounder.

The V-Strom while undeniably capable also often appears in the top Ten modern bikes hit with an ugly stick. Must admit he 2014 looks better than its predecessors but does anyone else think the front looks similar to the original goofy looking Woody Wood Pecker ? :confused-new:

It looks a bit like a bird skull.

 

What would add to the look is a fishtail muffler.

 

Wana see one in the showroom. Duz look like a Spatzi, going after the Bavarian crowd fer sure. Muffler is sure to get rave reviews too I am sure. ; )

 

Looks like they broke into the Ducati design center.

 

I think that the design team should have gone out for drinks AFTER the work was done...

 

To me, it looks like that toy bird that drinks water. This guy.

My thoughts exactly when I first saw it.

 

I checked one out at the dealership. Since it has a tire hugging front fender, I'm not sure why the beak was even required unless it is a styling exercise to tie in the whole "transformers" headlight nacelle thingsmabob.

This one looks a little better than the previous models, which are downright ugly looking to me.
