grips

i have to upgrade my grips. my throttle hand gets so numb sometimes that i cant stand it! what do you guys recommend?

 

I bought gloves with gel in the palm . I think they are Tourmaster. They help a lot!

 

When you order from the store you linked, If I put the quantity as "1" does that mean 1 set, or just 1 grip?
In other words, is it $9.95 for a set of 2, or would I be paying $9.95 each grip?

 

Unless the store is trying to rip you off, grips typically come in pairs.

I love the foam Pro-Grips for my interceptor. You have to cut off the bar end, but they make it easy...

 

Brilliant! What needs to be done is to find out all those stores that only send you one grip and tell them to get a grip. IMO

 

If you're getting that numb, you're holding on too tight or resting on the bars too much.
Also make sure your brake/clutch levers are adjusted to the right position for your height.
I don't think new grips are going to make too much difference, but foam ones might help a bit.

 

I mainly want them because I have large hands and would prefer a slightly thicker grip, the cushioning is a bonus

If big hands are your problem, foam grips are your best bet.
They have a slightly larger diameter.
PussyGrips make a foam sleeve that fits over your existing grips that fix this problem, not sure if they're available in the States.

 

Are the sleeves easy to install? I'd be interested in those for sure

I couldn't find any brick & mortar store that sold them, so I just got a normal set at Cycle Gear for $10, wasn't going to pay $7 to ship a $10 item. Don't glue on, something tacky like hair spray.
