So I've had a good old search on here but can't find the answer to the following question:

Everything works on my clocks apart from the bottom left hand bulb that illuminates the speedo. I can see what speed I'm doing once the needle heads upwards of 50mph but have no idea what speed I'm doing at night up until that point - which will almost certainly lead to some points at some point.

how easy is it to take the clocks apart and replace a bulb?
what bulbs do I need to get as a replacement?
Is there anything else pretty cool I should do once I have the things apart?

    Thanks for any help

Being that your in the UK, I would not know where to go for bulbs, I go to an auto parts store or Wallmart. Anyway; you must first open one beer, or soft drink, and then, you must remove your condom mirrors on both sides, then you must get your trusty #2 phillips head oot and get the windscreen off, then there is a honda think shrowd that looks like the "stealth fighter jet." Remove this too and I think at that point, you will see the back of the instrument panel, the bulbs are held in with some neato-black plugs that double as holder. Carefully remove the one in question oot and see what it says on the bulb, from memory, its a Stanley bulb 1.7 volts? I may be wrong, I got replacements and installed them. Problem solved. I would not mess with led bulbs but thats just me.

Its less than a one beer/soft drink job. Also pictures are required !!! :worthless: ; )

I replaced all my gauge backlight bulbs on my cb-1 with these LED lights from the local auto parts store.

T10 base, so should fit your VFR clocks. Brighter nice clean white light, shouldn't have to worry about them burning out for a long while. The added benefit is they run cooler (you'll probably see the plastic around your old incandescent ones is cracking due to the heat over time) and pull less current.

Just be warned, if you like the softer yellow lighting for your gauges don't buy these.
