    Hi all,
    I'm Steve from New Zealand.
I bought a crashed '94 VFR750 back in September and have just finished changing it up to a streetfighter.

It rides nice despite suffering from the usual reg/rec issues so a new FH020AA is on its way and will be fittied as soon as it lands.

Welcome aboard. You should have joined up earlier, then we could have warned you that by changing from red to white you inadvertently, chopped 50km/h off the top speed! :potstir: Just kidding, great job. Hope you have many happy miles together.

    Thanks for the welcomes.
I did use the bike for a trip around the North Island over Christmas

But it has been struck down with reg/rec issues. New parts have been ordered and should be here soon enough. Hoping the FH020AA will cure it once and for all, as I've already replaced the stator during the rebuild.

That's awesome, man! I normally think "streetfighter" is a synonym for "POS that I couldn't afford to fix properly" but yours is definitely an exception!

Which part of Wellington are you in? I can't imagine it would be much fun riding in the winds around there but I suppose a good day trip would be to ride over the Rimutakas and around the Wairarapa area?

A lot of people think streetfighter means rattle can ghetto spray job and bits bodged together to make something rideable. Over here in NZ when I've described the bike people call it a mongrel, until they see it.

I'm in central Wellington. The winds aren't great but a ride over the Rimutakas to the Wairarapa is always a good thing.

You could also head over to Nelson and enjoy the girls there...

I lived in Naenae for about 18 months, many years ago. The Mongrel Mob lived at the end of my street. It was great - they didn't make any noise...and neither did anyone else! Not even the dogs barked on that street!

May I suggest you get your headers CermaKromed/JetHotted? They'll look awesome and it'll really add to the effect of your 'fighter.

These are the headers from my Hayabusa, after I had them CermaKromed:

Wow, nice headers. They look awesome..
I have been looking into getting mine coated but the only company that does it is in Auckland and they charge like a wounded bull!!
I 'might' go for it over winter as I really want to the bike on the road as much as possible to enjoy over the summer.
This has not got of to a good start.
If you have an FB account feel free to add a comment. Hopefully my bike will be returned soon.

I finally got my bike back after 3 weeks! The tow company lost it, and shut down for Christmas. Grrrrrr. Hope to never go thru that experience again.

Anyway, back to the bike. New reg/rec fitted. New battery, and whilst I was at it I did a chop to the seat sub frame and raised it 50mm as the tire was touching the exhausts on full compression 2 up.

Someone wanted some pics of the back of the bike so this is a good excuse to put them up :)

The lines flow nicely from tank to tail. I still need to build some filler plates to go between tank and frame but that's about all :)
