Does anyone know if the fairings on the 2012 and 2010 are interchangeable?

Hi and welcome to the MadHouse:welcome:

Interesting question and so far I am not aware of any changes to the European spec 7th Gen bodywork styling since launch, so I would expect the fairing mounting locations to be the same, and parts interchangeable. I suspect that also applies States-side, however if you have a specific concern then I guess the only way of getting a sure fire answer is to consult the folks at your local Honda parts department. They should have a digital fiche which will list all the various panels/numbers and if there have been any revisions to later models they should show up as new part numbers.

    Hope that helps

Many dealers websites will have the fiche available online. A local one to me that I know does is Al Lambs Dallas Honda:

    http://www.dallashonda.com/

Go to the shop parts section, look up the two bikes in question, compare part numbers.

If the part numbers match, you're in.

If the part numbers don't match... then you really don't know much more than you do right now

Thanks guys. Some of the part numbers are one letter different but my Honda dealer thinks they will fit. This is for a bike I am considering but that is a couple hundred miles away. I noticed on the fische that the color is listed as part of the bike description for the left and right middle cowl (the big fairings), the left and right tank sides, the front fender of course, and the upper cowl (front fairing). I expected that on those six pieces. But a couple of other pieces are listed as (DIGITAL SILVER METALLIC) | Candy prominence red R342C; I though those would be just silver. Is there a little bit of red on some of the silver pieces such as the piece under the seat or the piece that has the FJR imprint?

Order the parts though your dealer. If they don't fit or match as they "think" then it all on them. This is the problem with the "generational" thing that is so popular. Three and ever four years of the same bike and no changes is BS.. Honda is not about to let the engineers sit around with their thumbs up their butts for long periods..
