    Hi everyone
Does anyone know if a sprocket cover and electronic speed sensor from a later vfr750
would fit an old vfr 750
    Thanks
    Regards
    David

Sorry the old bike is a 1988 and I think the 1994 vfr was electronic speedo driven

after looking at the parts breakdowns for both years, the covers do look very similar. The 94 is reshaped a bit to account for the different frame, but other than that looks like the same bolt pattern. What's wrong with the 88's speedometer setup?

You have to keep in mind the sprocket ratio for the 94 is a bit different than the 88's, I think down 2 teeth in the rear. So that's gonna throw your accuracy off a bit if you are running the 88's stock ratio. There are aftermarket correcting units that you can install. For example http://www.motosport.com/motorcycle/SPEEDO-TUNER-UNIVERSAL I'm assuming your plan is to install the 94 gauge or a generic digital one.

Hi thanks that's great the problem I'm having is I'm streetfightering my vfr 1988 and was looking to fit clocks off a 1994 fireblade which is cable driven but then worked out that the fireblade runs a 16" front wheel my vfr runs a 17"" so just thought about going digital and get clocks off a younger fireblade

It might be easier and cheaper to just pick up a universal speedometer kit that comes with a magnetic pickup you fit to the brake disc. Something like this. There's numerous choices availalbe.

It does, but it's all mechanical. OP wants to run a digital setup for whatever reason. and after having my old speedometer cable shear off recently and wedge itself between the fork and the brake components, it's not such a bad idea.
