hello folks, i'm a newbie. i'm in the uk and i'm trying to get my '93 fp model back on the road after it being stored for 5 years. i've cleaned the tank and carbs out, changed the oil, plugs, filters. fitted a new battery. i now need to change the back tyre and rear brake disc as it has a few cracks near the outer edge. i've taken the back wheel off and tried to swing the rear caliper upwards out of the way but i still cannot remove the rear disc. do i need to undo the large nut (45 mm - ish across the flats) that looks like it holds the rear shaft in place on the near side of the bike ? apologies if this is a really obvious question or if there is a 'how to' page that i have not been able to find. any help appreciated cheers bombadilo
I am having the same trouble. I cannot believe Honda designed the rear disc this way. What would seem to be an easy change out seems to require dis assembly of the rear carrier. Were you able get it done? How did you support the bike when you removed the carrier/ axle assembly?
