I've got a fully charged good battery. The VFR turns over a few times and I get the, "click-click-click" like the battery isn't getting enough power to the starter. I know the connection at the battery is good. I'm not totally eliminating the possibility of a bad starter relay. Sometimes in the summer I would have the same problem. And it starts every time when jump-started. It is really cold, (19 deg F.) so this really doesn't help. Any ideas?

Check all your high current connections, battery, starter relay. Remove your ground first, then Positive. Undo all connections and burnish. Sounds like you have a resistive connection due to corrosion. They can pass 12volts with little current, but not the high current demands of the starter.

The battery is grounded to the frame rail beneath the gas tank with this bolt Curtis.

Kinda difficult to get to,gotta raise the gas tank and the rubber flap covering the rear cylinder head to get to it.

Wow nice bike! Interesting colors. I broke down and ordered a repair manual. I've actually never raised the gas tank. I'll have lift the tank and check all my connections again. The battery connections look good. And the battery charges quickly after it stops turning over. So, I'm sure it has to be some sort of a power delivery problem.

I don't own a gen 6 but just for well being on my 4th gen I added an extra 8 gauge ground cable and attached it closer to the battery on the frame. It seemed to help a lot.

How old is the battery? My will show full charge but will not hold the juice. Swap a new battery and the problem go away
    Hope this is the case.
