There are all kinds of riding boots from waterproof touring to racing boots. I use and like my TCX boots. I d mostly street riding and touring. Waterproof and comfortable. I recommend them.

Do you want New? Or are you open to used? I always use google shopper to find the best online deals- I have yet to pay full price for any of my gear. I actually got my 1st pair of boots on sale @ my local bike dealer/ Icon Super duty 4s for $89 (way cheaper than online). I just got a pair of Teknic racing boots - Used on Ebay for $62.00. The next item I will be purchasing (def New) will be some leather racing pants to attach to my Teknic Chicane jacket that I bought on Closeout from Revzilla (50% off). Good/affordable deals are out there- including "Cycle Gear" which has stuff on Sale all the time and may also be a local option for you.

    Good Luck

I also have TCX and really like them. I also have wide feet, and find these fit me well. I know lots of people swear by Sidi, but for me, they are a bit too narrow.

I've had my Sidi Vertigo for five years now. I have narrow feet. I just bought some new soles from Motorcycle Superstore for $30 bucks. Local shoemaker put them on for $45 bucks and that seems like a lot but he completely finished and dyed the worn spots on the Lorica leather and the boots look brand new! Hopefully another 5 yrs. for only $75. Very happy with the results.

For me at least, hands down best "street-boot" with excellent feel for shiting and other stuff.

Road Race, have destroyed Alpine Stars, Prexport and maybe some other brand which escapes me now.

Still got my first pair of boots from Bates, they are dated on the label, 92...Have been re-souled more times than I remember, got a new pair cause they are so groovy...Cheers...Feet are like my hands, very subjective aboot gloves, and boots, otherwise, you could be buck-arse neked....

Yup, go to the local shop to try them on and then find the same item online & buy it. As much as gear costs, I save $$ every chance I can. My local bike shop will sometimes match and/or beat online prices though. I mostly just try and stay educated but by No means "Trendy".

Sucks that Teknic is no longer doing business in the U.S.

Some of the older dudes in my hood worked for Joe Bates waaaay back. The company was bought up by two women who expanded the line with gloves. Boots added when (??) Still in Lakewood near Long Beach, CA.. For awhile they were on Signal Hill in Long Beach. Good stuff!! I had a set of leathers from them that got nicked..
