    I am beyond pissed.
Anyone here ever loose a side case. I need the left bag.
And I'm going on a 1000 mile trip next week.

Any leads for finding a replacement

Soooooo...it fell off and you recovered it, or you really "lost" it totally? Must not have been fully engaged I guess. Gonna be hard to find a set that someone will sell to you "without" the bike attached.

That sucks. I got to work the other day and noticed the handle sitting up a little bit on one side bag, I hadn't latched it properly and I don't know how I didn't lose it.
I'd backtrack again and keep looking. Might get lucky. I hope you do.

This may be your lucky day. I was rear-ended by another bike last year and it took out my right side bag. I've since got a replacement set from the UK but I've had this left side bag just sitting around since then. It's the 2010 red so if that is what you're looking for make me an offer and it's yours.

Is there an ending to this? Thought the guy who lost his would have been a stunned mullet to find a spare one so easy?

You are the man Briandor! Did the OP ever contact you?

No doubt. I figured the OP would have been ecstatic jumping around in his underwear screaming at the moon.....or at least I would have. :behindsofa:

I have been considering buying the Honda side cases for my 2013. Have not seen a VFR 1200 with a set fitted. Is there any additional hardware that goes on the bike to mount the Honda cases or do they just lock into the two recesses on each side? That's the way my Yamaha FJR 1300 cases mounted. The Yamaha cases also locked into each passenger peg mount.

This story had a good ending. I ended up getting a pm from a guy on vfr discussion. He mailed the bag out the same day. All was well.

This is exactly the way you describe it. They hang on the brackets that you can see. And it also attaches at the passenger peg mount. When you lock the case down there is an am that comes up and locks the bag from the otherwise.

Never had a problem with my 05 or 08 FJR losing a sidecase. However i did have a problem with the locks on the 08 FJR sidecases. One lock came compleatly loose and fell out. This caused the case to pop open on the interstate and I lost a expensive Shoe helmet. I found the screws holding the lock for the second case loose. This happened with less than 2000 miles on the bike. Yamaha took no responsability and the best they would do was to give me a new set of case locks.

I know a few FJR owners who installed safety lock pins through their side cases for that exact reason.

I used red loctite on the case lock screws to secure them after the incident. Didn't see anyone else on the FJR forum that had this problem with the lock screws coming loose. Great forum by the way. Best online library of farkles for the FJR's I have seen on any forum site for a motorcycle.

I joined a bunch of FJR members last May for a meet in south east Ohio. It was great! I'll be going again this may, if you can make it, I recommend it. :).
