Currently looking at rebuilding the wheels on my F2. I need to strip them down but there are some odd shaped nuts on the bolts holding the wheel together that say "do not disassemble". Why can't I remove them and is there a special tool to do so? I can't get them re-anodised without taking them apart.

You can't take them apart because they need a jig to keep everything aligned when reassembling them ! Why can't you anodise them attached to the wheel ? It's an electroplating dip tank operation. so the rim will get the treatment to, but you can have the whole wheel stripped & cleaned then they can use blocking solution to protect the parts you don't want anodised !

Anyone who disregarded that warning would indeed be skating on very thin ice.

Actually I just remembered that Hagon used to repair those wheels, they might still do. Give them a call tomorrow.

As a alternative way to spend your dosh, consider changing them for 17 inchers. Best mod I did to my VF500F2. Handled well before but with Pilot Road 3s on now, it sticks like the proverbial to a blanket. Loads of instructions around on how to do it too.
