Sorry about the circumstances that allowed you to buy the bike, but a belated welcome all the same. Have no clue about prices your side, but you seemed to get a lot for your 4k. Even if you over-paid you can at least sleep easy knowing you helped your friends missus out.

Sorry for your friend --- $4k is a bit pricey for the bike, but with all the stuff, you can probly sell $1K worth and be ok.

Thanks man... I feel the bike was worth about 3k or so the mileage is a bit hi but I manly the third owner of bike my friends dad bought bike new ... So I know it was well kept... I hear ya about the stuff being worth the extra money I will most likely keep it all and use it untill I eventually finish my hurricane project..... Only thing I really won't use a lot of is the helmets as I have 2 others but I'm sure I can get them in the rotation..... I also scored about 4 sets of wheels and tires for a Honda atc 250R ... As well as a seriously built ATC .... Man I'm getting way to many toys...

Wow. I'm not sure I'd even be evaluating what I paid in that situation but to each his own.

^^^^^ yeah I agree it sounded kinda bad.. That was not my intention .. Overpaid underpaid it doesn't really make a difference I was just glad to help out... I'm honored really to even own the bike honestly .. And they are happy cause they know ill ride it enjoy it and take great care of it.. I was really close to the family and still will remain that way.. I went out and spent the weekend with his wife and son who is only 3 1/2... I believe his dad who was the original owner may even be a member on this site... I guess there is a lot more back story here with this bike I was just trying to spare everybody the details... It has been a rough year for me dealing with loss... Lost my father in July to a motorcycle accident... And then my best friend less than a month ago.... I had no intentions coming off like I did I'm just bad with words and tried to stick with the details

It sounds like the bike was very well fitted out, I'd be surprised if it wasn't on the site before. Until you post pics it doesn't actually exist as they say. Welcome.

If the suspension is as you say it is, then I think it's worth it. You'd probably be hard pressed to get that much for it, but a fully pimped out VFR for 4 grand? Worth every penny.

    Sorry about your bud.

Who cares about the price. If you were happy paying it, then that's all that matters. You helped out the wife and kid, and you have a piece of history to remember your friend by. Its also unique in some ways; blue plastics, undertail exhaust. Enjoy it.

It originally started life as a red bike in Simi Valley California the original owner had a small lowside well more like a bailout ... My friend was riding with his dad original owner and my friend low sided on his f4i off a serious embankment ... His dad rolled up and basically bailed of bike trying to get to mike ... Mike got a chopper ride but was eventually ok... That's when the bike got the RC51 front and blue plastics seat ect... Around 2002-03 or so... Bike went to Oregon around 2004 and ended up with my friend about 07-08 or so .....I guess the blue is a Canadian and overseas color not avail in the us at that time or at least how I understand it

As others have mentioned, the amount you paid for the bike is kind irrelevant, but IMHO I think it is honourable of you to purchase the bike from his wife. You both know the bike has gone to a good home and that it will be taken care of by its new owner.

I think the the best part of the story is that you get to ride the bike and every time you do it will remind you of your friend. Every time you swing a leg over the bike and go for a ride it will be like riding with your friend right there beside you, and I'm sure it bring a smile to your face.

As as for your friend, he is not gone, so long as he is remembered.

For those who have lived to ride, may they now Ride for Eternity.

The underseat exhaust, made by Wolf, would likely go for $1000 +-20% on eBay. They are pretty rare. Nice looking bike, looks good in blue.

Sorry about the circumstance of the sale as well. Like others have said, what you paid is kind of irrelevant in a situation like this. And besides, what one person thinks is too high, might not be high if it's the right bike for you. Very nice blue VFR, I rarely see them in blue.
