    Update:

Looked at RWB at the dealership. It is in great shape, but dealer would only go down to $6700, it is all stock and 9900miles.

A private sealer has a candy red for sale. I will go look at it today. He said he is 62yrs old and would rather ride his Harley roadking. It has 3300miles on it and he only wants $5500.

So is the RWB worth and extra $1200? My heart says yes but the pocket book says no. I could get exhaust, top case and hardware, PC3, and a few other things with $1200 if I buy the Red......

I bought it!!! The candy red was in pristine condition. Even came w the manual in the plastic wrapper and 2 keys still with the dealer tags on it. I never bought a used bike with all this. :congratulatory: The guy bought it from a dealer 18months ago w 800miles on it. He got it to 3319 when he bought a road king. He said he was to old for the bike and wanted to get rid of it. The seller really took care of it.........threw in a cortech tank bag, can of chain wax, and a throttle lock. He said he used Rotella 10w-40 on it every 6 months.

So far I ordered a CW fender eliminator and rear shock spanner.

Next on the list is SW motech mount and coocase w backrest for the better half. Then LeoVince and PC3, followed by Sargeant seat. As you can see on the pic below, he made a makeshift bungee system by the rear seat cowl....I am debating if I should keep it.

Congrats on the new purchase dude. That is one seriously NICE looking bike. That candy red color is just fantastic and the bike certainly looks as though it was really well cared for. You got a SWEET deal.

As as for the knob, my guess might be that it an idle speed adjuster. I say this because my wife's 96 VFR has an identical looking knob for adjusting the bikes idle speed. Since your bike is fuel injected and not carbureted I'm not sure. If you have the owners manual, I would check in there and see if it shows the knob's function in there somewhere.

As as the link in the spec section for the factory service manual is apparently not working, I found a link to a copy of the FSM on VFRD. Maybe try downloading the manual from the link below and it may contain a bit more information. The FSM is far more detailed than the owners manual and comes in very handy.

I keep mine at 1200rpm when engine is warned up. I've read on this same forum some riders like it at around 1400rpm.
