identify this lower

86 700, can anyone tell if this is aftermarket or original? Need a new one but want both sides to match

 

Not sure of older model fairings but the ones on my '01 VFR800 have a marking indicating they are Honda parts...

 

Interesting.... I didn't notice any markings on mine but doesn't mean that there aren't any, I'll have to look again

 

Looks after market, there are mounting points for air duct's that are AWOL.

 

Hmmmm if that is the case I'm gonna have to replace both sides ugh

 

That fairing can be repaired (easily if you have the broken-off part), and replacing both sides doubles your expense and trouble.

OEM fairing would have a brownish 5"X5" protective panel in front of NACA duct, some silver tape for heat protection near the bottom, and riveted connections at front bottom area for clothespin-type connectors.
