    Not sure of older model fairings but the ones on my '01 VFR800 have a marking indicating they are Honda parts...

    That fairing can be repaired (easily if you have the broken-off part), and replacing both sides doubles your expense and trouble.

    OEM fairing would have a brownish 5"X5" protective panel in front of NACA duct, some silver tape for heat protection near the bottom, and riveted connections at front bottom area for clothespin-type connectors.
