I found this on eBay. I haven't seen anyone else with this type of battery gage. It's sold by silverimage3 and cost 17 bucks shipped

My plan is to mount it between the dash and fairing on my 6th gen vfr800. Either ill use the bracket it came with or just a narrow strip of 3m red backed double stick tape since it will be in a cavity with a bottom.

It's not really a sealed unit but a little silicon will fix that easy enough.

I also just got a new Yuasa YTZ14s from eBay seller evapar11120 for $55 plus 20 to ship. That's about half price! It's brand new and comes with acid already added. The factory label states it's pre-filled.

Cool looking gauge. From the looks of the pictures you can attach it with the mount facing any direction and then rotate the display so it is right side up, correct? Look forward to seeing where you decide to mount it.

If you mount to the plastic, be sure to pre-clean the area with some rubbing alcohol before you stick it down. Normally at work I use 98% Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol since it cheaper than the adhesion promoter that you can buy from auto body supply stores and works just as well IMO.

Yes any direction will work as glass rotates.

Alcohol helps and a hair dryer to heat plastic and adhesive strip ensures the best bond.

Btw it's a red display- pic looks white.
Was looking for amber both to match VFR dash and because it's easier on eyes at night/effects night vision less.

Thinking I should fill it with dry rice or a silca moisture absorbing baggie from a box of sneakers to discourage moisture accumulation/condensation inside the metal housing- Any ideas?

Red is also very good for night vision.

According to this article you are correct. However it is so effective that the luminosity most of us use it at makes it actually a hindrance.

In which case white or blue-green is best.
    http://stlplaces.com/night_vision_red_myth/

I drove a Kia with red gauge illumination and it made me nuts. Now I know why.

In comparison the dash of my former car- a BMW was orange. Apparently a compromise to assist those with vision problems. Same goes my 6th gen VFR.

Finally my good ol CRV has it nailed for the masses. You can crank it up and it won't spoil your vision with its blue and white illumination.

Now, how can I go about dimming the digital red display on my voltimeter... Hmmm

You could get some glass tint and put that onto the glass on the inside, might knock the brightness down a bit, use some thing like 5% tint.

    Just a guess mind!

Good idea if it also works well enough in daylight- I think I have some 35% lying around I could try.
