I picked up a Yuasa that was parted off a new Honda generator.

Never used, this battery sat for about a year factory new with a label on top indicating it already has acid in it. [IMG]

I connected a battery tender jr to it that runs at .75 amps. Within an hour or so it indicated that it was fully charged (solid green LED)

I checked it with a new dash voltimeter and it showed 13.4 volts. I let it sit an hour off charge and checked it again- down to 13.2.

Does 13.2/13.4 sound off? Is the voltimeter biased high to account for non direct connection voltage bleed?

I repeated charging it 2 more times and it only took 30 minutes each time for the battery tender to indicate full charge (13.4) each time with the same peak and 1 hour rest voltage drop of .2

I plan on leaving it on float to let it take what it needs overnight at least as the trickle charge and auto charge cuts off/on automatically.

From what I have heard from others on the forum, most batteries contain 6 cells which have a voltage rating of 2.2 VDC each giving you 13.2 VDC for the charge on the battery. Hence I would say your charge on the battery is fine.

I agree, the sealed batteries tend to be 13.2v when they are fully charged and left to rest. The flooded batteries tend to be 12.9 volts when in good shape and fully charged. Yours seems perfect.
