    Remaining calm and not doing anything to make a slightly out of shape situation worse. Most of the time the bike will come back from a weird slide or if you blew it a bit in a corner buts its really difficult to just ride it out and do nothing to make it worse.

    If you wanna shoot the dozens
    Play them fast
    I'll tell you how many bull-dogs
    Your momma had.
    She didn't have one;
    She didn't have two;
    She had nine damned dozens
    And then she had you.

    I cannot claim to be a master - "a jack of all trades a master of none". The skill I am still trying to get better at is trail braking. Gotta get to the track and work on it. The track has been the safest environment for me to work on the trail braking skills. Also, I am not really into stunts but like going to stunt shows. Drifting is a skill I enjoy watching.

    Actually looking where the rider wants to go ...AKA Visual Directional Control is the most cumbersome and difficult for all riders.

    Much more doable on either a track or a road you're very familiar with as you can pick up all your visual cues early and sight lines are if not completely clear, at least you know what's coming. In those situations its all about having the effect of making the world seem slower as it goes by because you know your next move.

    Much more difficult otherwise.

    But where you look is where you go....track and street.

    Maybe not a technique as such but always and I mean always be mindful riding while fun is a serious business and the very best part of any ride is arriving home safely.

    All the skills mentioned above doesn't mean squat if your head isn't on right. The mental attitude behind all smooth fast riding is in your head. Until you master that skill you'll just be another rider...............:pope2:

    Most of this is great advice but how the heck do you think of all those things ya need to do to become a good rider when the really important stuff needs to be done first. Tuning in your favorite tunes, texting, talking to the wife and churrins about what to buy at Walmart, watching Oprah, adjusting the cruise control, sending and receiving email, checking the old GPS for the next place ya can buy gas and get some fresh cooked Jo-jo's, finding the switch for turning on the accent lights , waving at harleydoods, Making mental notes about future posts to VFRWorld about the esthetics of the right kind of oil filters and tires ect.

    Any advice is really appreciated.

    Yep this is a tough one for sure, most of the time we either feel frustrated that we have gone too slow or we crap our pants because we feel like we have gone too fast! What is the secret to getting this just right?

    I think this has a lot to do with the above situation, knowing how to adjust your corner entry speed so that you don't turn in too early. What did you do right when you manage to get it turned at the correct spot with the correct timing?

    Hahahaha, so true. Good one ;)

    The one answer to the first two is "California Superbike School".

    The answer to the third one is to push the cancel button every now and then, whether you need to or not. I've even caught myself hitting the cancel button on the track because it's ingrained habit: out of a corner, hit cancel, up the straight, hit it again...
