There are tons of bikes in this area but in my 2 years of owning my VFR I have only seen 1 other and it was a 2002. If anyone is interested in going for a ride drop me an email.

    VFR Riders in CNY

I live in Greene, NY and I know that there are 2 other VFR's in the immediate area. Saw one the other day and the guy told me that there was another one close by. Sure don't see alot of them around. Would be interested in riding sometime.

    Later,

    FWB

Do you guys know where Adams is? That's where I grew up, before my parents moved to California.

Amazing. I live in Syracuse and have 3 Interceptors. I've been riding these bikes since 1990 and you almost never seen one. I think I've seen one in the last 10 years. It is kind of nice having bikes that are unique - especially my '86 bikes. I get a ton of comments.

Adams is about an hour north and Greene is about an hour south. I see that this original post is from more than 3 years ago, so if you're still in town, then let me know.

I live in Western NY, south of Buffalo, Olean to be exact. I just got back into sport riding with an '86 VFR700, an all white one. I've only been able to ride it a few times this Spring.
I haven't seen any VFR's around here but then I've been hanging with the cruiser/touring crowd.
I'm looking forward to finding where the VFR riders are hiding!

How about we all get to gether for some lunch and a drive this summer? We can try to get a bunch of VFR's together for a days drive. I just move north from Liverpool to Fulton.

Sure, I would love to take a trip up there. You could show us around. Maybe we all can get some time and meet up to take a drive up north.

I live in Syracuse NY as well, ride an '85 VF700F I bought last year. It is a bit rough around the edges and shows it's age but it is very roadworthy and runs well enough. I like to think the sweet red white and blue paint scheme, it's uniqueness, and nice exhaust note detract from it's rough edges. I originally planned for it to get me through last summer before buying a newer bike but decided to keep it at least one more year as I have found it suits my needs well being a great all around bike abiet an old one. I was going to buy a Suzuki SV1000 but now my heart is set on a newer VFR after enjoying and riding the heck out of the '85. In a few weeks I will be at Americade and it will be interesting to see the VFRs that turn out there. As far as VFR's in the Syracuse area the only ones I see are in the parking lot at work, a pristine VF500 last year and this year a brand new anniversary edition VFR with the nice paint scheme of my old beater. Is that you stewartj239??? The suggestion of area VFR owners getting together for a ride together this summer is great, count me in. How cool would it be to see a bunch of different generation VFR's all grouped together? Lets all make this happen! Sorry for the long rambling post :)

Well, I would have to say that it's got to be me. You must work at HHP, right? I've also ridden my cherry '86 VFR750 as well, but this year, it's going to just be the '07 RWB. I also had a 5th Gen ('99) prior to this. Email offline or call me at x6362.

well i think a big meet is def in order like I said I dont have a running vfr now but my ascot is just about as rare and unusual as a vfr I also have a vtr250, little brother to the vfr. but lets plan this quite a bit ahead of time so everyone can come and we can work around ppls schedules. I think we should all meet at a park or soemthing maybe go out to eat dinner some where. any suggestions?

That sounds good scottyvfr. A park is a nice place to meet up(like there is not a lot of parks in NYS). We can meet at a central location and go from there. I have the GPS long and lat to all the waterfalls in NYS if that helps.

I think the thing to do now is to try to coordinate something, so if you live in CNY and would like to get together for a meet / ride, then send me an email at stewartj239@yahoo.com with a title of "CNY VFR Rider". Give me your name, where you live, your bike(s) and email address. I'll give it about a week, then send the compiled list to everyone who replies, then we can arrange something from there.

Small world. Yep I work there as well. First shift last year, second shift this year. I parked right next to you today. You have a nice little collection of very well cared for Interceptors, very nice! Thanks for getting the ball rolling on the ride/meet, hopefully it will work out nicely. I noticed there is another VFR forum...think it would be a good idea to post about the ride there too?
