i have an opinion on the bmw and after 100000+ street miles (2000+ on bmw in 3 days) and 35+ yrs riding dirt i consider it fairly informed.

The gist of it is that the Tiger and GS are not hard core off-road bike which I think is not a shocker to anyone on here. IMO they are for the serious road rider who like to be able to ride a long way and do some light duty off-road. Both bikes are heavy enough to not be tossed around too badly in high wind. They are too heavy for motocross or even desert racing, but if you want something you can ride all day then bail off the road when you see a nice berm that you want to try you are ready.

    Hehehehe...

Well...the 2000 VFR went to a good home and I actually picked up my 2013 Tiger today! I drove it home in 42 degree temps and the heated grips worked great. :)

I had the hand guards, heated grips and center stand installed. I brought it home and put a Puig touring screen and a Kaoko throttle lock on it and Monday I have a carbon Leo Vince and Trax Evo Aluminum boxes with SW Motech racks coming! So far I love the damn thing....yeah it has significantly less punch than the Viffer but a lot of that is gearing. At 70 mph I am doing less than 5 grand on the tach (I think 4600 rpms actually). The bike is incredibly smooth and you are right...it pulls clean no matter what RPM. Passes on the highway are easy. The suspension seems pretty good out of the box.

    Here is a pic...

I guess my rambling review was a little late, you got it right anways even the colour.

First thing i did is install center stand, engine crash bars and proper rad protection.

Congrats and enjoy your new ride!
