My last post was about winterizing to add stay bio or drain carbs. Decided to drain them after adding stabil and running then shoot a little oil in the cyls via spark plug holes. Well now it won't start. The bike ran great on my last ride. Around 200 mile trip first week of October. Have spark on all 4 cyls. Plugs were wet but the color was very good nice light tan porcelain. Put in new plugs. Still no start. All 4 bowls had fuel didn't seem like much when I drained them. Cranked and cranked and could only get a few drops to come out. Bad petcock diagphram ? Or the strainer partial plugged? Tank inside was creemd by previous owner. Doesn't appear to have lossend up anywhere. Only have had the bike a few months but it always started imeditley and idlded up to 4k right away on choke and ran so smooth when warm any other ideas ??? Bad gas ?? Always ran premium with no ethanol. But lkast tank was from a old gas station in a remote are no idea how old there gas could have been but it ran fine all the way home.

Wet plugs track voltage to ground, won't fire. maybe using too much choke ?? Try initial cranking with choke halfway, not fully on, and leave throttle alone.

Will do in the morning. I'll check grounds never thought of that but did check spark on all 4 cyls with a old plug held to ground. Also will try with half choke but always started imeditley on full choke and I never really touch the throttle till she's all warmed up. I've never worked on khiens before just mikunis. The float bowls seem to be smaller on the khiens . I was just supriesd how little gas came out of the drains. Thanks much will try in the morning and let you know

Looked at grounds and everything electrical /ignition looks to be just great. Switched looking at fuel delivery as not much fuel in bowls. Cracked vac line to petcock. Switched out runs again. Will do the petcock modification this winter. Thanks much. Gotta go to work now. Don't care how cold its tmrw I'm going 4 a ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then winterize this weekend:glee:

A word of caution: With the petcock mod there's danger of flooding the cylinders and crankcase with fuel if a float needle should stick open or leak.

Thanks for the tip. But I've had that problem before in my Suzuki days. I had a gs and the petcock failed. Thers operate differnt than Honda though. When the diaghpram went bad its wide open fuel to the carbs like its running. my seats and needles were worn. It sat for a day or 2 and 2 intake valves were opend filled 2 cyls with fuel. Went to start it and it locked up tight . bent a rod and that bike was done!!! So ever sense I'm very good at closing the fuel valve. If its not running the petcock is off.
