The only aftermarket 5th gen ones without the condom are the Emgo ones for the '00-'01. On ebay they will still set you back about $100 for the pair (with freight). The other option is a cheap set for a '98-'99, which will have a condom that won't fit properly (the problem that I have with my new set of cheapies).

OTOH, I've heard that someone has extended the holes of a cheap 6th gen set (using a dremel, perhaps), then re-painted it. Maybe doing this might get you on the road again.

PS: you can get the Emgo ones separately, so you only need to spend $50 to replace the one that fell off.

I had good luck with some eBay knockoffs with slotted holes and built in LED signals
I'm sure I paid under $50 for the pair.

I had those for a while on my old bike. They kept folding in with wind drag, and I couldn't get them any tighter because the nut at the bottom slipped around through the hex part at the bottom. I ended up roughing the two parts up and sticking rubber between them (a real biatch of a job). They were ok then, until some d!ckhead came by one night and pushed my bike over in the driveway and the stalk broke...
