kind of excited, just bought a 2003 vfr, has a few miles on it, but it had a couple important things that I wanted. not to be beat up, good tires, not to expensive and most important the factory hard cases. Got a red one, not my first color choice, but if I like the bike enough there is always the option to paint it. I've been riding for many years now and always wanted a vfr and can finally afford to have a couple bikes in the stable. My other ride is a Kawi mean streak that has served me well for 6.5 years now, but I needed something that was a little sportier, fun to ride and that can do it all day. I think I have found it with the vfr, can't wait to get some miles in!

    Hey MTG

Welcome to the WORLD. Congrats on the new purchase and don't forget to post up some pics of the new ride, otherwise we may be forced to assume you're a spy from one of the Kawi sites. LOL

A new to you RED VFR you say, hmmmmmm, never heard of one that color. LOL. We are sure that you will grow to he love the VFR as much as the rest of us crazies. I have had 4 VF series bikes now and I seriouslydoubt I could ever own another kind of bike.

All the best and don't forget to keep her shiny side up.

Got it home, now it won't start without charging the battery back up :( . Gonna have the honda mechanic look at it in the next couple days (he wont beat me up to bad, I do a lot of powder coating for him) Hopefully its just something simple, previous owner just thought the battery died from sitting so he bought a new one when he put it up for sale, Previous owner said he would eat half the cost of the repair. Don;t think I have ever bought a used bike that didn't need something. I will say it was a fun 50 mile ride back home with on a nice overcast 44 degree day! Gonna have to get used to sportbikes again, its been about 6 years since I have road anything other than my mean streak.

They say the '03 was the best VFR. My '03 was also red, but the PO painted it silver. Next time you go for a really long ride on the VFR, jump immediately onto your old bike and take her for a ride. I did that the other day with my KLR. What a weird feeling!

My 03 was originally silver but PO painted it candy red!

My previous ride was a Kawi 1500 Nomad Vulcan. The VFR is SO much more refined and sporty of course- enjoy!!

Yours was silver, then painted red- mine was red, then painted silver. I don't understand why, if a guy goes to all the trouble to paint the bike, he doesn't go with a custom color. Hmm- VFR in British racing green...
