Oh how have I missed this thread?

The hipocracy and chest thumping is amazing. It's hilarious how people latch on to a word or a phrase and it doesn't matter what was actually said, they only hear what they want to.

Here's a fun one for the anti-authority crowd:
    http://www.reporterherald.com/news/...police-officer-had-previous-troubles-trinidad
What the article doesn't say is that the police chief of the same department is also suspended and three computers seized from his office. But the town board refuses to release what the chief is being investigated for.

Fortunately for me, any time I've ever had an interaction with LE, they've always been the perfect model of professionalism. But it only takes one bad egg to spoil the dozen.

We have another one of those 45mph zones on the edge of town here that's ridiculous. There are no intersections, driveways, walking paths, parks, schools, blinky lights, trees, bushes, gopher holes, nothing, nada, anything for a half mile before the road finally opens to 55mph. I'm usually trucking 65 the whole way. Maybe some day I'll email the town engineer ask why it's classified as such if I don't die in a fiery ball of flames or slice a school bus in half first.

You just gotta know where to go. But for the real ludicrous speeds, I find Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming to be the playground of choice. You can literally see for miles and not have to worry about other cars or deer hiding behind trees.
