Good day all, I've recently booked the ferries for me and my brother in law (we both own 5th gens) to tour Spain, France,Monaco, Switzerland, belgium, holland and back home to the uk.
The total distance that we are going to travel is around the 2400 in 8 days. I currently run bt016's on the old girl, but after a run to Ireland this year (armoy road race) 1500 miles and a further 1100, these tyres are beat, I do ride like a numpty i'll be honest, wheelies backing into corners and roundabouts, skidding ant getting the old knee and pegs down (yes I know it's no sports bike) the point is I want a tyre that can't inspire the confidence on the Pyrenees but get good tyre life, I've always run racetecs or supercorsa pro, the 016's have been my first dip into proper road rubber for 10yrs.

    Cheers guys
    Safe riding.

I agree with all above except I prefer the PR2's because here they are cheaper and I find they are every bit as good as the 3's. I have run two sets of 2's, a set of 3's and have switched back to the 2's. Both have been on long hard ridden trips, the last trip being 5 weeks and 7,000 miles give or take.

For that confidence inspiring I find the PP2ct's are better, less life but cheaper. Probably ends up costing 10-15% more with all things considered but worth it in my mind.

I like the Dunlop RoadSmart II tyres. The Conti tyres that were on my VFR when I bought it were pretty good also
