What is a good clutch kit for a 07 vfr? Are they hard to replace? Where to buy? The bike runs really great, I get a funny shudder if I really get on it like the clutch can not handle the power. Advice on this would be awesome from the ones that have done this work. Thanks Barry. Also does the computer use the pair valve in any way to help with cold high idle? I removed all the parts to the pair valve and now bike is hard to keep running on cold starts till she builds some heat. I did adjust idle after removing parts to 12-13k

How many miles on your bike, new oil change also smooth out the clutch engagment. As for brand I uses Barret
It is about four beers job. The most time consuming is remove the old gasket.

I have noticed what I think is the same sensation on my '07 when I launch hard. I was wondering if it was due to the clutch being worn out. I only have 15K miles and the oil is a couple thousand miles old.

It'll be interesting to see if anyone else has experienced the same thing and what the cause was

OK so all my parts came in and i am proud to say that the factory clutch is no more. Here is the start 20131012_193327.jpg This is what i got to install 20131012_193429.jpg 20131012_205623.jpg Over all the job is not hard at all. old clutch removed 20131012_194751.jpg now for the big change. the springs, makes this thing much more predictable old on left new on right 20131012_195013.jpg this is the old set, does not look bad at all but something is up with it. 20131012_194842.jpg All new parts in and cover back on 20131012_202148.jpg 20131012_205608.jpg For the ride i put about 30 miles on it, and wow the power is back and the vibration is gone under a load. clutch lever is much smoother and right on every time. so in the end this fixed my issue and i am very pleased with the final product.

yep, new springs should go along with a new clutch pack. You will feel a difference with the initial lever feel from my own experiences. I do OEM stuff generally, thats just me though. Happy endings are swell, rubber side down///Ride to Live, Live to Ride

No i had a new gasket, also made sure i put some sealer on the new gasket where the oil pan meets the crank case to make sure i had no leaks in the very small seam. All in all i am very happy with the new clutch and it feels more like my 2000 vfr does now.

Glad to hear you got your bike back to feeling normal. Bummed to hear that replacing the clutch is what it took. Sounds like mine is showing the early signs of clutch wear. Maybe I should add a clutch replacement to the list of things to do while I check the valve clearances this winter....

1hr = 4 beers give or take. For Scubalong 1 beer = two naps so a four beer job = 8 hours give or take + more when you count taking it to someone who knows how to fix it right.

Funny you say that about the 2000 Barry, I can't seem to get the clutch on it to feel "normal" to me. I rebuilt the clutch master and slave with new pistons/seals/springs which helped with the feel of the lever, but the engagement point still feels like it changes between when the bike is cold and after it warms up. Clutch discs/plates/springs are next to swap out.

That is the same issue I was having with my 06. Buy the same kit part number is in pics. Kit works really well and keeps the clutch engagement very predictable.
