Just picked up an 04 vfr ,not cherry or original paint and promptly dropped it in the drive way trying to put it on the center stand , argh!! Yeah so after I got done kicking my own ass , starting imagining a nice white paint job to go with the nicely powder coated wheels....

Hi and a big welcome to the MadHouse:welcome:

Its great to see pictures!

As you have already discovered, getting the bike on that main stand can be a mission. If you are well above average weight/height it is no hassle, but light folks can find it a nightmare - and then getting it back down safely can be exciting. You will find several threads about the technique - with most suggestions involving simultaneously applying all your weight to the stand lever and hauling up on the frame, or even cheating by first running the bike onto a plank of wood. At the end of the day finding something which works for you is what matters. At least to start with a second pair of hands is a good idea. You are shifting something weighing well over a quarter tonne and its far too easy to injure your back if you get it wrong! Oh always take the luggage off!

Hence I rarely use the main stand, and consider it primarily as a service aid - used only when I need to lube/adjust the chain and to park the VFR over winter in as small a space as possible at the back of the garage. If the ground is not flat then I will only use the side stand - as it tends to be more stable. Soon after I got mine, I came out one morning to find it was blown over when parked on the main.

Check out the "Search" facility on here and it won't be long before you find plenty of threads about frame sliders.

Take care and enjoy the ride ...:vtr2:

Thanks for the welcome guys, Yeah guess I'm at the low side of average weight @165 lbs . Could prolly use a little extra ballast ,lol. Got a little careless and it tipped away from me before I could recover it and she was gone , I'm like did that just effin happen? So maybe if I get energetic during the cold season we may go white , something like this used-honda-vfr-13377868322018.jpg
I must say the bike is quite a different animal than what I'm used to, a find it surprising light to throw around in turns, although the soft suspension wallows a bit, guessing the rear non abs shock with 20,000 miles is the bigest factor. She does sound sweet with the Leo Vince duals ,which the previous owner installed along with a power comander/ 2 up on the rear sprocket. This is gonna be fun !

I believe that the white with black stripe down the tank was a 2009 colour combo. You don't see it much although I saw one in the flesh up here in the spring at the local dealer. It looks alot like the 1980/81 CBX scheme.

It's good that you let the thunder our with the Leos. The sound changes everything! With two up on the rear you are geared to cruise much like my bike and I find that it still pulls like a freight train. Can't see why I would ever go back to stock gearing unless I had a track day.
