Hey Peep's.....have an 85 750 and just bought a 84 parts bike....my plastics are in mint shape and wanted to change the color of the bike with the parts bike plastics. It came with 2 sets of rims and would like to change color. Anyone done this? If so what was your paint choice? Or powder coat?
    Thanx

As far as the rims go, I went with powder coating and it cost me $75 per rim here in So. Cal. If you want to change the color of your bike (plastics), either temporarily or to be able to change it back and forth, search out the post on 'Plasti-Dip'.

I spray painted my rims white, after sandblasting and priming them. No complaints here, but it's definitely not as tough as a powdercoat.

Like paints and coatings there are many types of powdercoat out there. If available take your stuff to a commercial shop rather than a boutique, do the homework and ask plenty of questions. Paint shops are like any other business including dealer/stealers. Both apps are great if done right.

Thanx for all the info....turns out I'll have 3 set's of rims (parts bike came with 2 sets) so I may try painting one to see the results.
I'm thinking pearl white for the plastics (black decals) and gold for the rims...keeping the polished lip.....my cars pearl white with gold rims :)
