That's a good discovery - thanks for sharing. I wonder if its time to create a single "When all else fails - Alternative parts" thread for each of the main older VFR types? Then as finds like this come up - we try and encourage people to ensure the information is also added to the central thread - that way useful stuff is easy to find. It looks like parts for 400, 500 and 700s are already an issue and I guess it won't be long before the early 750s will be in the same boat. Its obvious from the similar threads listed below - that others have been struggling with petcock issues and sharing discoveries like this may be a valuable resource and allow others to keep their VFRs running.:vtr2: SkiMad
A sticky thread or something for all bikes over 10 years old -would- be very helpful, perhaps I should talk to a mod about it. I also know where to get some really hard to find gaskets and a couple other parts. I'm sure with other people adding to the list we could build a whole bike XD It should also be known that ALL parts reference pictures, even from Honda itself show the petcock from the 1985 and prior models. The 1986 schematic for the fuel tank with the proper petcock apparently doesn't exist anymore.
