I'm in desperate need for a new helmet and it's the time of year to do so since the dealers and the on-line guys are blowing out stock.
So I have been looking around and there are some crazy helmets out there at crazy prices but one that struck me as good value and fit well was the Scorpion EXO 1100. It's light, has the drop down sun visor, is built of kevlar composite and has a unique pump up cheek bladder system. I'm intrigued but I would like to hear from any members here who have one or know someone that rides with one.
I searched the web and it seems like the vast majority of feedback is positive but I prefer to ask the most intelligent riders which of course are VFR world members.

So tell me what y'all think! Am I  or is it a good choice?

I know a couple riders who have Scorpion helmets and both have nothing but good to say for theirs. I was really close to getting the EXO-900 (Modular) but ended up with the Schuberth instead. If you can try one on and it fits well, I would say go for it. Their anti-fog face shield is supposed to be one of the best.

Schuberth makes a nice lid! They are on the pricey side but I believe the quality is there. My buddy did a face plant with his two weeks ago in BC and lived to ride another day. He claims the helmet set him back a G note.

I don't see how I can go wrong with the Scorpion. My Icon, which I really like BTW, is just starting to fall apart. It's been a great helmet but it is time to move on.

Hi Jethro, I've got he 900 and my wife has the 1100. Done quite a bit of research and I believe Scorpion offers a good value; noise, weight, features and comfort are all close to the premium names and the price tag won't put off retirement. Hope I never have to test it's protective characteristics...... I do find it easier to replace a helmet in the recommended time frame when you don't drop that G note on it.
Bonne chance a trouvé en bucket.

I have the helmet you're thinking of, Jethro . The only thing I've had to change on it is put a bit of extra helmet padding in the top near my forehead so it rides a tad higher on my head. When I'm doing illegal speeds I tend to have my chest right on the tank, then the upper edge of the face port obscures your vision a bit when you're trying to pick up your next target. Bit of padding fixed that. Otherwise been very happy with the helmet.

Working on your French again I see!
    Bon travaille mon ami!

I noticed that you were wearing one and the quality looked pretty good. I realized the other day that my Icon was a Snell 2000 :hss:
That and the fact that things are staring to fall off made me start to think and shop.

I pulled the trigger on two yeasterday afternoon so by the weekend we will be looking all the business.

I noticed that this happens from time to time. Your fingers must move faster than your thoughts?? or is it vice versa? Wife would be happy with the former. heheheh:potstir:
