I need to replace gear case bolt (it's part number 3 on this chart 2010 Honda VFR1200F AC FINAL DRIVEN GEAR | Babbitts Honda Parts House). Do I need to disassembly the whole final driven gear? Or can I just unscrew the bolt? As far as I know the oil level is slightly below the bolt so it won't leak out. But I just need to be sure that there's nothing that could jump out.

Looks like it is there to lock the nut that secures the bearing so I would think there is no issue to remove it, why do you need to replace it?
