Well, I finally got my Hagon shock in a few days ago. I ordered it way back in June. Yes, June. It was custom made for my 500 and my weight (145lbs with gear) and bumpy PA roads. I got the old shock out and the new one installed in about an hour. First off, the Hagon is way lighter than the stock showa air shock. After install, I measured my sag and it was spot on, no preload adjustment needed. The bike measured the same height as the Showa filled with 21psi preload. Ive already ridden about 200 miles so far on it and it is amazing how much smoother the bike rides. No more bouncy bounce. At first I couldnt tell if anything was happening. I didnt know if the Hagon was making a difference or not. But on some familiar roads where I know the bike bounced around with the old Showa, the new shock kept the bike smooth and even. Cost was over $400 but well worth it because I love this bike.

They get a bit of a bad press but I too have found my Hagon shock to be more than adequate for the VF500. I also have a CBR shock from JD to try at some point so I will be able to compare.

Hagon offer a rebuild service in case your PA roads are too much for it. I had mine done and it came back with a brand new spring.

Yep, it is pretty night and day the difference between the old stock shocks on these bikes and customised new shocks on these bikes.
Control in turns tightens up and riding in general gets better. I have an Ohlins and a Fox Twin Clicker on both of my VFRs and they both made a world of difference over the worn out stock units.
