Im so excited, i just bought my first bike ever, i don't even have my motorcycle license yet lol. Let's rewind to tuesday, my buddy texts me and says he has a 1990ish Honda interceptor 750 needing starter battery and rear tire but comes with a new tire for $150, i say deal. So today i now own a 1985 Honda VF750F and i love it. Its flat black with done rust and homemade aluminum mufflers... Its the best lol

Ahhh, if only I were a bit closer to your end of the country. I have seen and heard of some amazing places to ride, and my wife and I would some day like to make a trip out to the east coast on the bike. Bit of a ride from BC, but heh, WE have a VFR. LOL

I have been to, and through and Abbotsford many times. My wife's parents live just outside of Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. The east coast has always fascinated me and I have always wanted to visit that area of Canada. My best friends parents took a driving vacation a couple of years ago and instead of spending a couple of days in Nova Scotia they spent a couple of weeks and the pictures they brought back were truly amazing. The trip was in early fall and the colors were absolutely incredible. BC is very nice don't get me wrong, but when fall and winter comes in Kelowna we still see roughly the same color green on the trees, whereas the maritime provinces seem to explode in a sheer spectrum of colors.

I may have missed something but does this 1984 VF750F run and move forward? I get a little uneasy when a first time rider picks up geriatric bike for his first ride. I love the VFR family and have been down the 80s vintage VF road. I can tell you from experience that it is fraught with heart ache and gummed up carbs.

The best time of your life is in your hands. Seriously life changing. Or the worst. Gear and a sound respect for the fun and and danger will make the difference.

Get a battery then trouble shoot the staring system. It probably needs a starter relay more than a starter but there are several things that could keep the starter silent. Good luck with it and keep us informed.

The starter turns just not fast enough to start. Or so I'm told. I plan to get a battery soon. She just needs some odds and ends, nothing major

Sounds like you just need a good battery.
