Here's my "touring" setup ON and OFF the VFR1200. I already have the two GIVI top cases, so I added the SW-Motech ALU rack and Contour racks for the V35s for less than $500. V35s was also less than $500. You probably could do a full 3bags system for $1200 to 1400, depending on you choice of top case. GIVI makes their own racks for the VFR1200, which I believe are a little less expensive and you can buy them from sources other than TwistedThrottle. I've bought quite a few things from Motech and they have always been great quality and design.

While messing around with the rack installation, I decided to bolt the license plate assembly directly to the rear support bracket. That necessitated an alternate license plate light. I hid a 5 LED light in the crevis just above the license plate and it worked out quite well. I also installed a couple of truck/trailer LED market lights and rigged up a dual-intensity relay that switches belween full-brightness when the brakes are applied, and lower intensity otherwise. I played with different current limiting resistors to tweak the lower intensity to match the OEM lights above (see pic). BTW, the upper brake/parking light bulb has gone LED too. Couldn't afford the OEM Honda LED assembly.

I am still looking around for a suitable LED light to go where the OEM license plate light used to be. I'll probably do that one super-bright and brake light only. For now, some electrical tape helps to make up for the missing light assembly.

While I was at it, I added a long strip of LEDs on either side of the "middle fairing". They are in direct view from behind the bike. From the side of the bike and forward, you only see a faint LED glow reflected off the sliver trim piece. I like the effect a lot and think they add a lot to night time visibility. When I have to remove the fairings to do my projector retorfit, I might rig up the the same dual-intensity to turn these LED strips into turning signals also.

    Good looking set up.
The exhaust was a nice choice as well.

I like the idea of turning the fairing lights into turn signals.

Thanks. That 2Bro M5 Titanium can came with my bike. I shortened it about 4" to clear the V35s. Made the exhaust a bit louder than I care for, but it does sound low and throaty.

SW-Motech does have some fine quality gear. Had loads of their stuff on my Triumph.
Very nice, Voify. You obviously know your way around electronics. Wish I could say the same!
